ADULT YOGA DESCRIPTIONS:
Morning/Afternoon Flow Yoga:
A variety of yoga postures to stretch and strengthen your body in the morning to start your day fresh and energized. These classes are a combination of flow yoga and held postures focusing on alignment and breath to increase flexibility, stamina, and clarity. These sessions are great for beginners or students who have been developing their practice. Be prepared to sweat, breathe and calm your mind. Men and women are welcome.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga-All Levels:
Vinyasa means "to link movement with breath." In these classes we will help you to stretch, strengthen and heal the body and mind using postures and breathing. All classes are slightly different, giving your body a variety of poses and breathing techniques to experience. Expect to sweat, cleanse and detoxify both physically and mentally. Classes are suitable for beginner’s and intermediate students. Men and women welcome.
Yoga with Weights:
This class is a fun and energetic way to improve strength and flexibility using light weights and resistance. This class uses fluid and held poses with the combination of light weights, resistance bands and body weight. Men and women welcome who are not afraid to SWEAT!
The Yoga Within: (this class has changed style)
A beautiful class that will inspire the soul and lift our spirits as we dive deeper into the heart of yoga. We will discover the 8 limbs (philosophy of yoga), chanting, mantra, guided meditation, breathing techniques, and moving the body through postures that will be expressive, open and honest. Bring a journal or note book. Props are provided.
Wednesday: 8:00 - 8:45 p.m. - starting Sept 8
Yoga Core with Stability ball:
A fun and challenging way to learn and experience yoga postures with the assistance of the yoga/stability ball. This class is a great complement to the week classes, as it focuses primarily on core and strengthening the spine. Beginner’s and yoga students welcome. Men and women will learn the joys of breathing, strengthening and stretching areas of the body to improve overall well-being. Ball provided.
Gentle Flow Yoga:
This class will be beneficial for people with athletic injuries, repetitive strains, or overall muscle weakness. If you want to increase range of motion, decrease pain, and improve strength this is the class for you. The use of resistance bands, straps, blocks and other props to ease into the postures are provided. This class utilizes poses that are energetic, strong, and restorative.
Registered Classes for Fall:
Beginner Yoga: A great way to ease yourself into the yoga practice with an introduction class for 6 weeks. You will learn breath work and the more common poses in an easy, fun, light hearted way.
Friday: 7:30-8:30p.m. (Starts: Sept. 10- October 15-$84.00plus GST)
Sunday: 11:00am.-12:00p.m. (Starts: Sept. 12-October 24- -$84.00plus GST)
Yoga for Back, Hips and Legs: This class is for those who are suffering with stiff joints, back aches, or chronic discomfort. We will use a more therapeutic style of yoga to open up the body in a natural, safe way. 6 week registered class.
Saturday: 12:30-1:30p.m. (Starts: Sept. 11- October 16-$84.00plus GST)
Silver Yoga for 60+: Come together for an hour with your peers to experience the beauty of age appropriate yoga to help keep the mind and body supple and healthy. 12 week registered class.
Wednesday: 3:30-4:30p.m. (Starts: Sept. 8-Nov.24-$144.00 plus GST)
PRE TEEN AND TEEN YOGA:
Pre-Teen Yoga (8-12 years): What a great way to encourage your child to be active and calm all at the same time. This hour of light hearted and fun yoga is devoted to helping your child explore movement using postures and breathing appropriate for their age. Boys and girls welcome. No yoga experience needed.
Saturday: 9:30 -10:15a.m. Class Starts Sept. 11-Nov. 27-12 weeks ($144.00 plus GST)
Teen Yoga (13-16 years): A perfect class for boys and girls wanting to cross train or learn about movement with some core strength and stretch. This class is great if your child plays hockey, basketball, volleyball, soccer, or participates in karate, ballet, or gymnastics. Your teen will love this class. Let’s bring some balance into our families with Yoga.
Thursday: 4:30-5:30p.m. Class starts Sept. 9-November 25-12 weeks ($144.00 plus GST)
