Becca:

I have been a Certified Massage Therapist for 8 years in the Riel Business Park in St. Albert. I worked with Chiropractors for the first 4 years of my career and after that time I ventured out on my own and opened Divine Health Inc. in September of 2006. I added yoga to my qualifications in the summer of 2006 and became an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor (balancing nutrition and lifestyle) in April, 2009. For the last several years, I have been helping St. Albert, Edmonton and surrounding area residents with their ailments, pain, stress, nutrition, diet, and lifestyle changes.

Your overall health is very important to me. As I become more involved with Eastern medicine and nutrition, I have realised that we need to focus on our health daily, not once our bodies start to deteriorate. In my experience with myself as well as with clients, I have seen that without massage the muscles remain sore and tight and do not recover as quickly from injury and workouts. As well, without yoga our bodies turn soft, less flexible and our minds start to run rampant over-thinking and over-analyzing. I have also seen many people try to work out harder and practise yoga more often without proper nutrition. The fact is that food is the first medicine for our bodies that will either heal us or age us. I believe that all of these health modalities are  important for overall wellness and health. Come visit us today and let us help you create more balance in your day!

Greg:

My path towards becoming a certified Personal Trainer (via Can Fit Pro & AFLCA) actually started when I walked into a St. Albert chiropractic office in 2005. Unexpectedly, two destinies were about to collide into one. It was here that I met an amazing massage therapist (named Becca) who treated my ailing back and counseled me to come back in two days. Needless to say, I came back and ultimately married her 4 months later.

Professionally, up to this point and into 2006, I was a regional sales representative for a large company based in the U.S.. The salary, benefits and & perks were very good, but I was quite unfulfilled career-wise and I obviously needed to make some changes. During the latter part of 2006 I went back to school and obtained the necessary credentials to become a Personal Trainer - a profession that combines my love for helping people with a love for sports & fitness.

In April of 2007, I became a partner at Divine Health, complementing the two other health & wellness modalities Becca was already offering. The bonus aspect was being able to co-operate a health & wellness business with my wife and controlling our own common destiny.

My Personal Training philosophy is quite simple: I focus on the whole body. I help to locate imbalances within the body and create symmetry. There is a program for everyone. After an initial consultation, each one is tailored for each person. If you are wanting to lose weight, bulk up, maintain, stay motivated, change up your routine, or really kick it into high gear, I know that we at Divine Health can put those wheels in motion.

From my perspective today, I feel very blessed by the relationships I’ve built & the people that I continue to meet. I am now finding fulfillment in having a hand in a client’s outlook on future health & happiness.

Kari :

After years of teaching movement and alignment to adults and children, yoga was a natural evolution for me. Take the physicality of gymnastics, the flow of dance, and add clarity of mind and openness of heart … yoga speaks to my body and spirit. To create a moment in time when we feel completely at peace on our mats … such a lofty goal in our busy days. But when I find that moment again while holding my husband or reading to my son, I realize that is it not a grand desire but rather a natural state of being. Health, happiness and love to all that wish to find it …

Cathrine :

After I graduated from my 2 years with Alberta Massage Training, I was so happy to begin my journey as a Massage Therapist.  I get to explore the connection between the mind and body , as well as my passion for helping others on such a personal level.  Whether somebody is coming in for a "tough love" therapeutic treatment, or if they just need a hour of pure relaxation and clarity, I feel so lucky that I get to share my knowledge and learn from my clients everyday.  I also have way too much energy to be stuck at a desk all day.  When I'm not sticking my elbow into people's backs, I love traveling and adventure.  I recently went traveling to Australia on my own and I am craving to see the rest of the world. :)

Susan :

Over the last few years, as a retired engineer and Mom of two boys, I've been quite involved in fitness through running, weight lifting, various sports and of course, yoga. I've tried almost every kind of fitness class out there! Very few things keep me coming back like yoga does. Why? When I practice on my mat, I become so focused on the movements and the moment..... that the world slips away. Yoga practice has not just increased the strength, endurance and flexibility of my body but also of my mind. After practicing, I feel amazing - I now crave it. Yoga has been so empowering for me, it has even given my life more direction. Wanting to share the power of the yoga journey with others, I decided to teach. I was certified through YogaWorks in June 2009 (RYT-200). Now I teach vinyasa flow classes, private sessions and workshops that educate and challenge students while providing some comic relief (some of it not intended!). I will always be a student of yoga and this student needs to keep working on balance. That's all I'm going to say! Come grow with me!

Lorraine:

At an early age I was always trying to work those kinks out on my family and I knew in the back of my mind I was meant to become a Massage Therapist. It wasn't until I returned home after traveling across Europe I realized what I wanted to do with my life.  I wanted to help people. I am currently studying Advanced Therapeutic Massage Therapy to achieve a second diploma.  When I am treating a problem using specific deep tissue work, I become fascinated with how the muscles release and relax.  In doing so, I can give my client muscle pain diminishment, built up tension release, and a feeling of overall body wellness. I love meeting new people and being presented with new challenges. As I continue on my path as a Massage Therapist.  I invite you to come join me, and let me rejuvenate you!

Andrea:

Andrea has finally found her true calling as an acupuncturist and healer after many years of living the life of an engineer.  Immediately after high school she enrolled in the engineering program at the University of Alberta, traveled the world during her internships, and after graduation she began a career at a local utility company.

Despite her incredible life experiences and successes in the field of engineering, all the while she was looking for something that fit her caring, nurturing personality and her desire to truly help people.  It was only when she started seeing an acupuncturist to address her own health issues that she could safely say she had found what she was searching for.

After three years of intensive study in the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine program at Grant Macewan College and 600 hours of clinical experience at the teaching clinic, she is ready and excited to put her talents to work.

Andrea loves to stay active by practicing yoga, cycling, climbing and playing ultimate frisbee. She also likes to paint, spend time with her family, and head to the mountains to camp and hike as often as she can.

Carly:

I was born and raised in St.Albert, AB. Growing up, I spent the majority of my time participating in competitive Irish Dancing with the Brady Academy in Edmonton. I was able to travel a lot, spurring a habit that I just can't seem to shake. I began taking yoga about 10 years ago to help loosen up after dancing competitions and as a way of letting go, if I did not do as well as I wanted. My love for yoga truly sprouted while attending physiotherapy school in Australia where I spent more time attending yoga classes then I did university ones. In 2010, after 4 years working as a physical therapy assistant and doing one year of a physiotherapy degree, I chose to explore therapeutics and rehabilitation by taking a more yogic path. By combining my knowledge of the body and my passion for yoga I realized what can really be achieved. My goal is simple; to bring yoga to those that need it the most by providing the space and energy to let people blossom through the eight limbs. I truly love teaching and hope to bring the same peace and contentment that I feel to others that step onto their mats.
